This is a classic puzzle commonly called the Knight's Tour. Using knight moves, visit every square on the board before returning to the start.

These are probably my favourite puzzles so far. When tackling these, it is important to remember the last square must be a knights move away from the start. I didn't realise this to start with, it caused problems!!!

I like these infuriating puzzles too. There is also the question of getting in and out of the corners, which took a while to dawn on me.

I find these irritating and they are definitely not my favourite, but I do get the most sense of satisfaction when finishing them.

Does the move for the knight go two forward and one diagonally or two forward and one sideways? Is the square that we see the knight on the starting square or where he is now?

The knight's move consists of 2 squares up, down, left or right PLUS 1 square at right angles.
It is easier to see from a diagram and you will find one here:
http://www.simplesite.com//greatpuzzle/8411307
The knight is shown on its starting square for the tour. It's first move will take it to square"1". As it is a Circular Tour, it's last move takes it back to the starting square again.
