I'm having dreadful trouble with the letter sudoku on page 24.
I have spent a week on it and rubbed it out for the first time last thursday, after running into trouble with my F s. I'm now on my fifth attempt and it is the F's every time. has anyone done it or is this another one with an error?
There are no problems with any of the Sudokus that I found. I solved all of them in one marathon session! It did my head in completely.
I think that the one on p24 would rank as "fiendish" if published in a newspaper, but that's obviously very subjective. (It's nowhere near the hardest I've done.)

brilliant topic and OH how I sympathise, many as Fraggle says are familiar.
Gauntlet you've made me feel so much better I got DUSTY too
My worst one was substituting the wrong value for a symbol in the forum not just one but two of them I couldn't see it. And in one instance repeatedly misreading a clue till Gill bailed me out.
Thanks to all who have helped me
I'm having trouble with one of the suduko's 4th attempt so far I have managed not to notive 2 J in one row, 2H's in another and 2 F in another column. Try again tonight

There is only one term for the sodukos in the later pages, numeral or alphabetical, It DOES NOT include the letters UKO Scuse me laughing at my own jokes I can't do them very well
correction. It is the blasted sudoku on page 25 I am struggling with. Although I haven't finished the one on p24 either now I come to look. I got so desparate one night I even started looking at the missing inscription on p24. I found lots of words, but I think I'll go back to page 10 and try some of the earlier ones.

I always translate the letter SODuko's into numbers. It just seems more obvious to my tiny brain to spot the similarity between two 7's rather than two G's for example.
Mmmm
BB.

I have just had an OMG moment. I have been doing most of the puzzles on a photocopy to preserve the original in a better state. And have just realised that the harbour puzzles often have blank squares shown in blue. Except that it didn't show on my black and white photocopy. Which might explain why I was having such difficulty with them!!

Im a total saddo - I do one page at a time. I won't move forward until the entire page is completed! That maybe explains why Im behind the rest of you!
